This campaign aims to raise awareness about the harmful practice of forest burning and promote sustainable collection of wild edible mushrooms, with the collaboration of various organizations and individuals.
Morels are a highly sought-after gourmet mushroom abroad and in the culinary industry. Chile is an excellent exporter of this mushroom; however, there are myths associated with its appearance. It is believed that forest burning helps more morels to emerge. Fires in Chile are a serious problem. The Fungi Foundation launched the No a la Quema del Bosque por Morchella (No to the Burning of Forests for Morels) campaign in 2016. Let's protect our native forest. We present this video to raise awareness about these harmful practices and to promote sustainable collection of wild edible mushrooms.
