Our Books

Nuestras Guías de Campo de Hongos de Chile I & II acercan la diversidad fúngica del país a todos, combinando rigor científico con imágenes claras y un fuerte enfoque en lo local.

Back in 2013, Fungi Foundation’s foundress, Giuliana Furci, wrote the Field Guide to Chilean Fungi (Guía de Campo Hongos de Chile), the first guide to depict fungi in their natural habitats, with photographs that included the substrates they grow on. This field guide provided detailed information on more than 100 species found in Chilean ecosystems.

In 2018, we published the second volume in this series, covering entire fungal families. Together, both books feature information on more than 200 species of Chilean funga, serving as a valuable tool for enthusiasts, aspiring mycologists, professional mycologists, and explorers of all kinds. This second volume also includes microscopic characteristics for species identification.

Our field guides are now part of the libraries of over 800 schools across Chile, becoming an essential resource for outdoor and mycological education.
