As the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17) takes place in Yerevan, Armenia, from 19 to 30 October, Fungi Foundation is calling for greater recognition of fungi in global conservation efforts.
Building on the progress achieved since the launch of the Fungal Conservation Pledge at COP16, the recommendations address five key areas: soil biodiversity, sustainable wildlife management, protected areas, conservation planning, and the relationship between biodiversity and climate change.
Through these recommendations, Fungi Foundation calls on Parties to translate the growing recognition of fungi into concrete actions for their conservation, restoration and sustainable use.
